Rebecca Hudson-Tandy is a Lecturer in Midwifery at York St John University's School of Science, Technology and Health, appointed in June 2025. She holds a first-class honours degree in Midwifery Studies from the University of Bradford (2012) and a Master of Science in Advanced Practice from the University of Leeds (2018).
Her research interests focus on Infant Feeding, the Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI), and Interprofessional Learning between nursing and midwifery students. She has developed expertise in obstetric emergencies through her Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) certification and maintains clinical practice as a bank Midwife at her local trust.
Hudson-Tandy's publications and conference presentations demonstrate her commitment to improving midwifery education and practice, particularly in team development, early career challenges, and professional identity. Her work on the Baby Friendly Initiative has been presented at major conferences including the Royal College of Nursing Education Conference.
