Ravi Malhotra is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa. His scholarly work focuses on Labour and Employment Law, Human Rights, Globalization, and Disability Rights Law, integrating legal analysis with social justice and disability studies.

His research explores intersections between disability rights and broader societal structures, including time and labor dynamics. He has contributed foundational works on disability identity, global economic impacts on labor law, and historical disability activism. A SSHRC-funded project investigated the relationship between time and disability rights, with a forthcoming book on Cornelius Castoriadis' philosophy in this context.
Malhotra has received significant recognition, including a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship and a 2022 Insight Grant. He co-authored an article on Article 24 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and collaborated on airline passenger accessibility research via a Transport Canada Grant. He also contributed to the Labour Law Casebook Group's widely used textbook.

Malhotra has served as Vice Dean-Graduate Studies (2017-2019), Adjunct Professor at York University's Critical Disability Studies program, and on the Research Ethics Board of Bruyere Hospital (2014-2016).
