Raúl Castaño de la Rosa is a Senior Research Fellow at the Faculty of Built Environment, Tampere University, and Visiting Young Professor at Southeast University (China). He holds a PhD in Architecture from the University of Seville, complemented by a Master’s in Integrated Building Management. His research focuses on designing sustainable, resilient housing solutions to address energy poverty and improve community well-being. He co-chairs the Sustainable Housing Design research group (ASUTUT) and coordinates the 'Resilient Communities of Practices' initiative at ECIU University. Key roles include Research Field Coordinator for Resilient Communities and leadership in projects like SOL-TECH (Human-Centered Solar Smart Technology Design).

Research interests span energy-efficient building systems, smart home technologies, and environmental justice. Recent work examines indoor climate resilience via Building Management Systems and fall-risk mitigation in elderly housing.
