Professor Risto Kosonen holds a professorship at Aalto University's Department of Energy and Mechanical Engineering, focusing on HVAC technology, energy efficiency in buildings, and indoor climate systems. His research integrates digitalization and IoT for smart building solutions. He leads projects on energy-efficient building systems and has authored over 320 international publications. Kosonen chairs the Federation of Finnish HVAC associations and the Indoor Climate Association, promoting industry-academia collaboration globally. His work aligns with UN SDGs for sustainable cities and climate action.
