Rasmus Mannerström is a University Lecturer in Social Psychology at the Swedish School of Social Science, University of Helsinki. His research focuses on psycho-individual issues tied to societal transformations, including identity formation, psychological well-being, values, political ideologies, and the replication crisis in research. He is a core member of the Minds Hub research group and leads the FLUX project studying fertility decline factors. Mannerström holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Jyväskylä (2019) and a Master’s in Social Psychology from the same institution (2011).
His research spans longitudinal studies on identity development, digital engagement among youth, and psychosocial factors influencing family formation. Collaborations include cross-cultural projects on collective narcissism and identity dynamics. Mannerström frequently engages in public discourse through media contributions and invited lectures, addressing topics like youth identity crises, digital well-being, and societal challenges.
Key projects include the strategic research council-funded FLUX project (2021–2024) and the European Social Survey analyses on gender and values. He has authored/co-authored 29 publications and participates actively in conferences, workshops, and academic peer reviews.
Mannerström’s work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical societal impact, emphasizing empirical rigor and policy relevance in youth and family studies.
