Anna Henning is a Senior Lecturer in Social Psychology at the Swedish School of Social Science, University of Helsinki, and serves as Vice Rector for Teaching. She has been affiliated with the university since 2002, with a leave period in 2010-2011 for research with the Council of Social Sciences and the Society of Swedish Literature in Finland.
Her research focuses on social psychology, particularly digital media and youth, identity, minorities, and language plurality. Recent work examines the impact of social media, screen time, and cyberbullying on young people's well-being, as well as parenting in the digital age, addressing critical societal challenges in contemporary Swedish-speaking communities.
Henning's recent publications include the 2024 podcast series "Digirelationer", which synthesizes research on youth digital behavior into accessible public formats. This output reflects her consistent trajectory in translating academic findings into practical applications for parents, educators, and policymakers.
She has supervised Master's and Licentiate theses and currently participates in the research project "Forskningsprojekt om svenskspråkiga unga" (2023-2026), funded by the Foundation for Education and Culture in Swedish in Finland, examining the experiences of Swedish-speaking youth in digital environments.
