Robert Henning is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Connecticut. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1986) and completed post-doctoral training as a NIOSH fellow. His research integrates ergonomics, cybernetic theory, and occupational health, focusing on teamwork dynamics and participatory health interventions.
Henning's research explores social-psychophysiological compliance in teams, rest-break optimization, and workplace health promotion. His work emphasizes cybernetic models of human interaction and practical applications for employee well-being.
Analyzing recent publications (2001-2011), dominant themes include participatory ergonomics, team cognition under communication delays, and integrated health frameworks. His research consistently bridges theoretical cybernetics with workplace interventions.
