Florencia Sortheix is a University Researcher and Adjunct Professor at the Department of Education (University of Helsinki), associated with the Swedish School of Social Science. She holds a Docent title in Social Psychology since 2019 and is an Adjunct Professor at EADA Business School, Barcelona. Her research focuses on values and well-being across cultures, work values' impact on career outcomes (e.g., entrepreneurship, leadership), and societal polarization. She teaches courses on sustainable behaviors, cross-cultural psychology, and Finnish culture.
Education: PhD in Social Psychology (UAB - Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 2014), Master's in Psychology (UAB, 2006).
Research interests include cross-cultural value dynamics, parenthood influences, and work-family balance. She leads/co-leads projects like FLUX (Family Formation in Flux) funded by Academy of Finland and ClimComp (Climate Change Competence in Education). Active in supervising doctoral students and has published widely on value orientations, affect measures, and refugee/environmental attitudes. Collaborates internationally, notably in Arab Mediterranean migration studies and ESS data analysis.
