Consol Vancells serves as a Lecturer at the International Business School (ESCI-UPF) of Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, where she teaches Strategic Brand Management (6 ECTS) and Digital Media Storytelling for Global Audiences (2 ECTS) within the International Business Program. With over 25 years of professional experience bridging academia and industry, she integrates real-world brand strategy expertise into her pedagogy.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Sciences (specializing in advertising), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB)
- Master’s Degree in Social Media, Branding and Strategies, Universitat Ramon Llull-La Salle
- Graduate Degree in Administration and Management, Harvard University
Her research and teaching focus on strategic brand management in digital ecosystems, emphasizing purpose-driven branding and cross-cultural storytelling. She investigates how narrative techniques create immersive consumer experiences in global markets, with particular attention to ethical branding and reputation management during crises. Her work advocates for cultural sensitivity in international marketing strategies and the integration of social responsibility as core brand value.
Vancells currently coordinates the Marca Barcelona project for Barcelona City Council, managing the city's identity and reputation through multi-stakeholder partnerships. Her prior leadership roles include Director of Communication at Teatre Nacional de Catalunya and founder of Fundació Enriqueta Villavecchia (supporting children with cancer). She maintains an active consultancy advising organizations on brand strategy through her proprietary Method with C from Consol framework (Conversation, Consulting, Creation, Communication).
