Rangina Hamidi is a Professor of Practice at Thunderbird School of Global Management. Born in Kandahar, Afghanistan, she emigrated to Pakistan in 1981 and the USA in 1988. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and Women & Gender from the University of Virginia. Returning to Afghanistan in 2003, she dedicated two decades to advancing Afghan citizens' welfare through education and development projects. Notable achievements include establishing an all-women social enterprise and leading the Mezan International School in implementing an internationally accredited curriculum integrating Islamic education and Afghan values.

Her research focuses on educational psychology, curriculum design, and business administration in post-conflict environments. She has contributed to global media outlets such as The Guardian, BBC, and NPR. Her recent publication explores Afghan women’s contributions to socio-economic progress despite cultural constraints.
Prior to her academic role, Hamidi served as Afghanistan’s Minister of Education until August 2021. She emphasizes holistic approaches to empower Afghan women through education and entrepreneurship.
