Jennifer Fluri is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Geography at the University of Colorado Boulder. She holds a Ph.D. in Geography from Pennsylvania State University (2005). Her research centers on feminist political geography, focusing on conflict, security, and development in Afghanistan and South/Southwest Asia. She co-directs the CU-Boulder Affordable Housing Research Initiative (CU-BAHRI), addressing community-driven affordable housing solutions. Previously, her work examined the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA), international aid dynamics in Kabul, and women's roles in Afghanistan's peace processes. Recent research includes Afghan refugees in North America and post-Taliban women's rights.

Research interests include feminist geopolitics, humanitarian aid critiques, gendered security practices, and spatial dimensions of development. She has published extensively on Afghan social movements, geopolitical humor, and activist methodologies.
Grants include NSF funding for women's leadership studies in Afghanistan and USIP support for peace process analysis. She advises six graduate students and teaches courses on feminist geography, development, and gender politics.
