Randy Gill is an Associate Professor of Worship Arts at Lipscomb University's School of Music in Nashville, Tennessee. He holds a B.A. in Music Education from Harding University, an M.A. in Music Education from the University of Michigan, and a D.M.A. in Choral and Church Music from the University of Southern California. Prior to Lipscomb (since 2018), he served as Associate Professor of Music and Associate Director of Church Relations at Pepperdine University, and held roles at Rochester University and Oklahoma Christian University. His career includes over 20 years as a worship minister at churches like Otter Creek Church and Woodmont Hills Church.
Dr. Gill’s research focuses on integrating worship arts into contemporary church practices, with expertise in choral music, sacred composition, and liturgical leadership. He is a prolific songwriter and arranger, with works used in churches nationwide. His compositions, such as Confession and Alas and Did My Savior Bleed, blend traditional hymnody with modern worship aesthetics. He co-founded the ZOE Group and remains active in its annual conferences and publications.
He has been married to LaJuana Case Gill since 1976, and they have an adult son, Christopher. His professional engagements include speaking at conferences, retreats, and church events, emphasizing the role of music in spiritual formation.
