Dr. Randall Fransoo serves as a Senior Research Scientist at the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy (MCHP) and Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. He co-directs The Need To Know team, a national award-winning research collaborative focused on evidence-based health policy.
His research spans Population Health, Clinical Epidemiology, and Health Services Research, with significant contributions to Atlas-style population health reports, hospital bed/ICU utilization studies in Manitoba, and Adult Obesity research. He actively collaborates with clinical departments including Anesthesia, Cardiac Sciences, and Critical Care on epidemiological projects addressing healthcare delivery gaps.
Scientific recognition includes:
- Gerry McDole Professorship Award (2010-2013) for Improved Healthcare Delivery to Rural, Remote, and Underserved Populations of Manitoba
Dr. Fransoo's work emphasizes translating population-level data into actionable health policy, particularly for vulnerable Manitoban communities, through MCHP's population-based research infrastructure.
