Rana Bazzi is an Assistant Professor at the University of Franche-Comté, affiliated with the Chrono-environment laboratory (UMR 6249 CNRS/UFC). Her research develops multifunctional nanoparticles (e.g., iron oxide/gold hybrids) for biomedical applications, particularly image-guided cancer therapy.
Research Interests:
Her work spans nanomaterial synthesis, characterization, and applications in oncology. Key areas include:
- Design of theranostic nanoparticles combining diagnostics and therapeutics
- Magnetic/fluorescent nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery
- Photothermal therapy and radiation-enhanced treatments
Projects & Collaborations:
She leads interdisciplinary projects funded by EUR EIPHI-Intherapi and ANR PRC:
- CIMES: Targeting glioblastomas via in vivo click chemistry
- nanoHyMPI: Atherosclerosis treatment using magnetoplasmonic nanoflowers
Academic Advising:
Currently mentoring Chrono student Laila Yazigi.
