Guillaume Bertrand is a Lecturer at the Université de Franche-Comté, affiliated with the UMR 6249 Chrono-environment research unit. His work integrates hydrogeology, geochemistry, and ecohydrology to study groundwater systems, peatland carbon dynamics, and contamination processes in tropical and temperate regions. He contributes to the eLTER Jura observatories and coordinates with research groups like DYNABIO and GEODE.
His research focuses on peatland restoration, carbon fluxes, and groundwater-surface water interactions. Recent studies examine methane emissions in temperate fens, isotopic tracing of carbon sources, and sustainable water management in urban tropical areas. His publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches combining hydrological modeling, isotope analysis, and socio-environmental data.
Advising and collaborations include working with Noémie Poteaux and co-authors such as Alexandre Lhosmot, Marc Steinmann, and Hélène Celle-Jeanton. Key projects like ECOPOLIS and SISMEAUCLIM address climate change impacts on water resources. His work utilizes HAL CV metadata to explore environmental sciences, continental interfaces, and geochemical processes.
