Ramona Gonczol is an Associate Professor (Teaching) at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University College London. She specializes in Applied Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, and Romanian language education. Her roles include Academic Coordinator for SSEES Language Short Courses and teaching Romanian language courses. She holds degrees from the University of the West (BA/MA, 1996-1997), UCL (MA in Adult Learning, 2011), and the University of Edinburgh (PG Diploma in Digital Education, 2015).
Her research focuses on language education, cultural communication, and continuing education methodologies. She has authored/co-authored textbooks on Romanian language and grammar, including Colloquial Romanian (2012) and Romanian an Essential Grammar (2020). Her work emphasizes cultural transmission and pedagogical innovation in language learning.
Ramona is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and recipient of the Order for Cultural Merits (2018) for promoting Romanian culture abroad. She speaks Romanian, Italian, Spanish, and has expertise in language education across multiple platforms.
