Ramon Granado is a Research Fellow and NAS Mellon Impact Fellow (2024–2025) in the Department of Native American Studies at the University of Oklahoma. He is concurrently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Native American Studies with a minor in Linguistics. His professional background includes roles as a Kiowa Language Teacher at the Kiowa Language Department, Tulsa Zarrow Library, and Carnegie High School, along with service as Interim Director of the Kiowa Language Department.
His research focuses on indigenous language preservation and revitalization, with specialized expertise in:
- Kiowa Language: Documentation, pedagogy, and community-based revitalization strategies.
- Plains Indian Sign Language (Southern Plains - Kiowa): Historical and contemporary usage analysis.
Granado has received significant recognition for his contributions to Kiowa language education, including:
- Level 1 and Level 2 Credentials from the Kiowa Language Teacher Credentialing Board (2022, 2024).
