Melanie Frye is a Lecturer in the Native American Studies department at the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences, University of Oklahoma. She specializes in teaching the Mvskoke (Creek/Seminole) language and cultural knowledge.

Her research focuses on language, history, and cultural revitalization, particularly through materials development and educational initiatives for the Mvskoke language. She has authored a textbook titled Maskoke ‘Punvyvs! Speak Maskoke!’, which represents a key contribution to language pedagogy and Indigenous language curriculum design.
