Rajib Doogar is an Associate Professor and Area Coordinator for Accounting at the School of Business, University of Washington Bothell. He has been with UW Bothell since 2013, first as an Associate Professor without tenure and then with tenure from 2014 onward. Prior to this, he served on the faculty at the University of Illinois (2002-2013) and the University of Notre Dame (1992-1998).
Dr. Doogar's educational background includes:

Dr. Doogar's primary research interests focus on audit markets, financial reporting, and managerial accounting. His work applies economic theory and statistical methods, particularly tools from production theory, to understand accounting and auditing institutions and activities. He has made significant contributions to understanding audit fee structures, audit market concentration, business risk auditing, and the regulatory environment affecting the accounting profession.
His publication record shows a consistent focus on audit market dynamics and regulatory impacts. His most recent work examines residual audit fees and bank audits during the financial crisis, while earlier work explored audit market concentration and the transition to AS5 auditing standards. His research demonstrates expertise in both theoretical economic modeling of audit markets and empirical analysis of audit practices.
Dr. Doogar has served as an ad-hoc reviewer for numerous top accounting journals including The Accounting Review, The Journal of Accounting Research, and Review of Accounting Studies. He has also been active in professional service, including membership on the American Accounting Association Auditing Section Research Committee (2001-2007).
At the University of Washington Bothell, Dr. Doogar has held several service roles including Accounting Faculty Search Committee Chair, Masters' Program Development Task Force member, and School of Business Research Seminar Series Coordinator.
