Professor Sen's research spans multiple areas of accounting including economic and game theoretic modeling of disclosure incentives, accounting policy choices, decentralized decisions, budget-based contracts, auditor selection, and empirical analysis of strategic alliances. His work has examined the January effect, geographical segment disclosure, governmental accounting practices, and fundamental valuation models. His research integrates theoretical modeling with empirical analysis across diverse accounting domains.
Analysis of Professor Sen's recent publications reveals a consistent focus on valuation theory, international accounting issues, and the intersection of accounting with strategic decision-making. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications, often examining how accounting information influences firm valuation, investor behavior, and market efficiency. There's a noticeable evolution from traditional accounting topics toward more complex valuation models and international contexts in his later work.
