Raina Mason is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Southern Cross University, where she teaches and researches computing education. With a PhD and Bachelor of Multimedia (Honours) from Southern Cross University, her career spans over 20 years in higher education after earlier work in IT for small businesses and government departments.

Research Interests focus on making STEM courses more accessible through Cognitive Load Theory, improving teaching strategies for novice learners, and addressing gender disparities in technology careers. She also investigates inclusive pedagogy and learning environments in higher education.
Academic Leadership includes redesigning the Bachelor of Information Technology course for ACS accreditation, serving as Course Coordinator (2017–2021), Acting Discipline Chair, and Associate Dean (Education) until 2023.
Scientific Awards include the University Medal from Southern Cross University in 2005.
