Raheem A Beyah is the Dean of the College of Engineering at Georgia Tech and holds the Southern Company Chair. He is a Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, leading the Communications Assurance and Performance Group (CAP). His research focuses on network security, cyber-physical systems, and critical infrastructure protection.
Education: BS in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University (1998), MS and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech (1999-2003). Prior roles include Vice President for Interdisciplinary Research, Interim ECE Chair, and affiliations with the Institute for Information Security & Privacy (IISP).
Research interests span network security monitoring, industrial control systems, and IoT vulnerability analysis. Notable achievements include the NSF CAREER Award (2009), ACM Distinguished Scientist (2016), and IEEE Fellow (2025).
Advising and grants: Founded Fortiphyd Logic, Inc., and led initiatives like the Online Masters of Cybersecurity (OMS Cybersecurity). Community involvement includes KIPP WAYS Academy board service and leadership programs with United Way and Leadership Atlanta.
Labs/Teams: CAP Group focuses on secure network infrastructure and accountable computing systems. Active in academic mentoring through programs like LSAMP and SURE.
