Ragnar Misje Bergem

Ragnar Misje Bergem is an Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at MF University College of Theology, Religion and Society. He holds academic leadership roles as Co-leader of the research group in religion and politics (2023–present) and previously led the Resonance research network (2021–2023). His work bridges political theology, philosophy of religion, and dogmatics, focusing on modern Europe's unresolved religious heritage and secularization dynamics. Bergem's research explores theological contributions to contemporary political crises, particularly regarding representation and monotheism's political implications.

Education: PhD in Theology & Religious Studies (University of Cambridge, 2018), MPhil in Christian Theology (Cambridge, 2014), and a theology bachelor's from MF. His recent books include The Politics of Monotheism (2024) and Political Theology (2019). Current projects include The Trial of Reason: Political theology in modern German thought.

Teaching responsibilities include courses like Constructive Theology (TEOL1013) and supervising theology theses. He reviews for Vårt Land and actively mentors PhD aspirants in his fields. Key research themes include secularism critique, political rituals, and interdisciplinary dialogue on human dignity.
