Rae Shaw is an Assistant Professor in the School of Cinema at San Francisco State University, where she teaches filmmaking, screenwriting, and interdisciplinary media arts. Her work focuses on uplifting underrepresented voices, particularly women of color, and addressing systemic inequities in visual media through provocative narratives.
Education:

- M.F.A. in Motion Pictures, University of Miami
Research & Creative Focus: Shaw’s practice bridges art, activism, and education. Her award-winning films and scripts explore themes of diversity, sexuality, and social justice, screening at festivals like Slamdance and Reel Sisters of the Diaspora. She founded Wicked Lovely Films and Media to amplify diverse storytellers and mentor emerging artists.
