Rachna Begh

Rachna Begh is a University Research Lecturer at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Research in Health Sciences (IRIHS) and Oxford Tobacco Addiction Group. She serves as Deputy Course Director for the MSc Translational Health Sciences program and supervises students in the MSc Evidence-Based Health Care and DPhil in Primary Health Care programs.

Research Interests:

• Tobacco addiction and smoking cessation interventions
• Mixed-methods research
• E-cigarette efficacy and safety
• Primary care communication strategies
• Weight management in chronic illness

Recent Research Trends: Her work focuses on evidence synthesis projects, including Cochrane systematic reviews on electronic cigarettes, vaping cessation interventions, and tobacco use among Emirati adults. She employs randomized controlled trials, qualitative interviews, and conversation analysis to evaluate healthcare delivery methods.

Supervision: She mentors DPhil students investigating the relationship between smoking cessation and cardiovascular/mental health outcomes, as well as cultural adaptation of cessation programs.
