Rachel Van Cleave is a Visiting Professor of Law at McGeorge School of Law, Pacific University, where she teaches Criminal Procedure, Constitutional Law, and Global Lawyering Skills I. Her career spans multiple prestigious institutions, including Golden Gate University School of Law, Texas Tech University School of Law, and Stanford Law School.

Her research focuses on comparative criminal justice systems, particularly gender-based violence and advocacy for marginalized communities, including survivors of Hurricane Katrina and victims of unjust sentencing laws. She is co-authoring a book titled Law, Politics, and the #MeToo Movement with Professor Penelope Andrews.
Rachel has received two J. William Fulbright Scholarships for research at Italy’s Constitutional Court (1995) and Supreme Court of Cassazione (2020, postponed to 2021 due to COVID). Her work emphasizes legal education reform and social justice.
