Josephine Ross is a Professor of Law at Howard University School of Law. She specializes in constitutional criminal procedure, policing practices, and feminist critiques of legal systems. Her work focuses on challenging stop-and-frisk policies, mass incarceration, and the intersection of gender and racial justice. Ross co-created the Reentry Clinic and taught at Boston College Law School and Michigan State University. Her book A Feminist Critique of Police Stops (2020) argues against constitutional legitimacy of police consent searches. She has published widely in law reviews, including articles on #MeToo and Fourth Amendment issues. Ross’s community work includes training groups on 'Know Your Rights' and post-Hurricane Katrina legal aid in New Orleans.
