Rachel Parker is an adjunct professor and director of the Arts Administration Program at Southern Utah University (SUU), within the College of Performing and Visual Arts. She teaches courses in arts management, legal issues, grant writing, fundraising, and advocacy. Her academic leadership includes chairing the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region VIII board and serving on the Association of Arts Administration Educators' Membership Committee.
Education: B.A. in Theatre & Media Arts (Stage Management) from Brigham Young University; M.F.A. in Arts Administration from SUU.
Research interests focus on empowering arts advocates through interdisciplinary education, emphasizing legal frameworks, cultural policy, and practical skills for nonprofit arts leadership. Parker emphasizes experiential learning, integrating internships and real-world projects into her curriculum.
As program director, she prioritizes student engagement through SUU's clubs, study abroad, and hands-on projects. Her vision centers on cultivating advocates who drive arts sustainability and community impact.
