Dr. Bill Heyborne serves as an Associate Professor of Biology at Southern Utah University (SUU), where he also directs the Center for STEM Teaching & Learning and founded the SUU Animal Ambassadors program. His career centers on undergraduate education and hands-on biological research with students.

- Bachelor of Science in Zoology (minor: Chemistry) from Southern Utah University
- Master of Science in Entomology from Oregon State University
- Doctor of Philosophy in Biology from the University of Northern Colorado
His research integrates Science Education with organismal biology, specializing in Herpetology (reptile/amphibian natural history including venomous snakes) and Entomology (insect studies).
