Rachel Leonard is a Research Fellow at Queen's University Belfast's School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work. Her work focuses on maternal mental health, family-focused interventions, and health professionals' engagement with families, particularly fathers. She teaches courses including MED1028 Foundations for Practice 1 and SWK3003 Social Work with Children and Families.
Her research emphasizes systematic reviews in healthcare, with recent projects investigating interventions for family carers of people with intellectual disabilities and case management for acquired brain injury. She has published 29 research outputs since 2017, including influential reviews and intervention studies.
