Rachel Fitzgerald is an Associate Professor and Deputy Associate Dean (Academic) at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at The University of Queensland. She is an internationally recognized expert in Digital Education, leading initiatives in digital transformation and curriculum innovation with a focus on Generative AI, Inclusive Pedagogy, and Lifelong Learning. Rachel co-chairs the national TEFA Network, supporting over 1100 Education-Focused Academics in Australia, and serves as Senior Editor (Educational Technology) for the Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice.

Rachel’s research interests include Digital Transformation, Micro-credentials, Online Learning, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in AI-enhanced contexts. Her recent work explores the ethical use of AI in higher education, frameworks for curriculum design (e.g., CRAFT), and the role of microcredentials in workforce development. She has published extensively in journals, books, and conferences.

Rachel supervises PhD students in topics such as Assessment Innovation in Business Education, Academic Self-Concept Development, and Entrepreneurial Learning in Oman. She is also involved in national and international conferences, advocating for ethical AI integration and inclusive pedagogical practices.
