R. (Rink) Hoekstra

Dr. Rink Hoekstra is an Associate Professor at the University of Groningen, affiliated with the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences and the Department of Educational Sciences, Learning & Instruction. He holds the rank of Associate Professor with ius promovendi (supervisory rights). His research focuses on meta-research, statistical methodologies, and improving research practices in psychology and education. He is also the Managing Director of Stichting Pedagogisch Onderwijs (SPO), a foundation for pedagogical education.

Education:

• Bachelor and Master's degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Psychology (University of Groningen, 1996–2003)

Research Interests: Hoekstra's work addresses statistical misinterpretations, confidence intervals, Bayesian analysis, replication practices, and open science. He advocates for robust methodological approaches and has published extensively on improving transparency in research. Recent trends in his articles emphasize FAIR data practices, validity frameworks, and bridging gaps between theory and clinical practice.
