Dr. Nguyen specializes in emotional intelligence applications within hospitality contexts, with particular focus on Vietnamese hotel workers. Her research examines how emotions, culture, and gender intersect in service delivery and how these insights can be embedded in professional development programs. She investigates national stereotypes in cross-cultural service encounters and explores what helps or hinders emotional intelligence practice in hospitality settings. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to decent work, industry innovation, and reduced inequalities.
Her publication trend shows consistent focus on emotional intelligence in Vietnamese hospitality contexts since 2016, with recent work (2022-2024) expanding into national stereotypes and cross-cultural service encounters. This evolution demonstrates growing sophistication in examining cultural dimensions of hospitality service delivery while maintaining the Vietnamese context as her primary research focus.
