Dr. Quang Nguyen is a Senior Lecturer in Consumer Behaviour at Middlesex University's Faculty of Business and Law, Department of Strategy, Leadership & Operations. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Hawaii, an MSc in Demography from UC Berkeley, and a BSc in Mathematical Economics from National Economics University.
His research focuses on Behavioral Economics, Industrial Organization, and Organizational Economics, combining theoretical models with empirical tests like field experiments. Recent work explores managerial behavior impacts, risk preferences in corporate investment, and behavioral interventions in management practices. He has conducted randomized trials in Vietnam and other regions, examining topics like charitable giving norms and disaster corruption risks.
Teaching includes Behavioral Economics, Online Consumer Behavior, and Management Analytics. He advises two current PhD students: Jin Li and Jing Su. Notable grants include the Russell Sage Foundation's Poverty & Social Preferences project and the British Academy’s Newton Fund Mobility Grant on managerial preferences and firm performance.
Publications span journals like American Economic Review, Journal of Operations Management, and Tourism Management. His work bridges behavioral theory with real-world policy implications, particularly in emerging markets.
