Professor Prokar Dasgupta OBE serves as King's Health Partners Foundation Professor of Surgery and Director of the Centre for Academic Surgery at King's College London, while also holding the Chair in Robotic Surgery and Urological Innovation and Chair of the King's Vattikuti Institute of Robotic Surgery. Additionally, he is an Honorary Consultant Urological Surgeon at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
A pioneer in robotic urological surgery with over 30 years of experience, Professor Dasgupta developed the 'Dasgupta technique' and led world-first innovations in image-guided/3D-printed prostatectomies and telerobotics. His research significantly impacts surgical training through advanced simulation systems and drives AI integration in healthcare as chair of the Responsible AI UK working group for health and social care.

His innovations have fundamentally altered treatment pathways for three major urological diseases, with significant grant funding supporting his surgical science trials.
He directs the Centre for Academic Surgery and leads the King's Vattikuti Institute of Robotic Surgery, while coordinating multidisciplinary teams across the Responsible AI UK ecosystem to develop ethical healthcare AI frameworks.
