Pratim Biswas serves as Professor and Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Miami, where he leads the Department of Chemical, Environmental & Materials Engineering. His academic leadership extends to directing the Aerosol and Air Quality Research Laboratory (AAQRL), which focuses on particulate matter characterization and mitigation strategies.
His research spans multiple critical environmental domains with emphasis on aerosol science, air quality management, and CO2 reduction technologies. Current investigations include advanced particulate matter source apportionment using machine learning, photocatalytic CO2 conversion mechanisms, lunar dust monitoring for space exploration, and clean cooking solutions for developing nations.
