Piotr Żyromski serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of German Language within the Institute of German Philology at the University of Wrocław, a position he has held since 2014 after serving as an Assistant Professor from 2012. His entire academic career is anchored at the University of Wrocław, where he completed German studies (1996-2001) and earned his PhD in 2009.
His doctoral research under Professor Lesław Cirka examined "Formal-logische Typen der Subordination in der deutschen Sprache der Gegenwart" (Formal-Logical Types of Subordination in Contemporary German Language), establishing his foundation in linguistic theory.
Dr. Żyromski's research concentrates on German phonetics and phonology, with specialized focus on distinctive and distributional features of German vowels and consonants. His work integrates syntactic analysis within the Integrative Linguistics (IL) framework, contributing to systematic understanding of German linguistic structures through resources like vowel/consonant feature tables, IPA inventories, and articulatory organ studies. Teaching materials he developed demonstrate applied research in German phonological systems.
