Dr. Maria Ferenc is a researcher specializing in Holocaust history, affiliated with the Taube Department of Jewish Studies at the University of Wrocław. She leads the National Science Center-funded grant “Mordechaj Anielewicz – Biography and Memory”. Her work focuses on the Warsaw Ghetto, Jewish resistance, and historical memory. Ferenc holds a PhD from the University of Warsaw’s Faculty of Sociology, where her dissertation on wartime news circulation in the Warsaw Ghetto won the Polityka Historical Award and a Yad Vashem distinction. She has coordinated projects like the English edition of the Ringelblum Archive and the Encyclopedia of the Warsaw Ghetto, co-editing three volumes of archival documents. Previously a curator at POLIN Museum (2010–2014), she has been with the Jewish Historical Institute since 2017.
