Dr. Ping Xiang is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management at Texas A&M University, specializing in sport pedagogy. She earned her master’s degree in Physical Education Theory from Shanghai University of Sport (1987) and her PhD in Kinesiology (Sport Pedagogy specialization) from Louisiana State University (1996).
Her research focuses on students’ motivation in physical education and physical activity settings. Dr. Xiang has authored or co-authored approximately 90 peer-reviewed articles, including in Journal of Teaching in Physical Education and Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport. She is recognized as the most prolific sport pedagogy researcher globally (Web of Science, 2004-2013) and holds editorial roles in multiple journals.
