Pinar Bilgin is a Professor of International Relations at Bilkent University in Ankara, Türkiye, and a member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences since 2012. She currently serves as President of the World International Studies Committee (WISC) and has held prestigious visiting positions at King's College London, University of Copenhagen, Leiden University, and St Andrews University.
Her educational background includes:

Bilgin pioneers critical non-Western perspectives in International Relations, challenging Eurocentric frameworks through rigorous analysis of state failure, militarism, and regional security dynamics. Her scholarship exposes how Western biases obscure complex geopolitical realities, advocating for multidimensional approaches that center Global South experiences and reject short-term security policies.
