Pilar Camacho-Luna

Dr. Pilar Camacho-Luna serves as Assistant Professor of Veterinary Ophthalmology within the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Louisiana State University's School of Veterinary Medicine, joining the faculty on March 7, 2022.

Her educational foundation includes a veterinary degree (LV) from Universidad de Córdoba, Spain (2022), complemented by board certification as Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists and ongoing candidacy for Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Large Animal).

Research activities center on equine ophthalmology (diagnostic tonometry, surgical interventions) and equine gastrointestinal disorders, particularly gastric ulcer syndrome pathophysiology and treatment. Clinical expertise spans medical/surgical management of equine ocular conditions, reconstructive adnexal surgery for small animals, corneal procedures, and equine neonatology.
