Pierre Trudel is a Full Professor (Professeur titulaire) at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Law, affiliated with the Centre de recherche en droit public (CRDP). He holds the L.R. Wilson Chair on Information Technology and E-Commerce Law. His roles include teaching civil law, intellectual property law, information law, and cyberspace law. He has held leadership positions, including Director of CRDP (1990–1995) and research director for a federal broadcasting policy group (1987–1988).
Education: LL.M., Université de Montréal (1977).
Research Interests: Focuses on information rights, privacy in public networks, e-government risks, audiovisual law, e-commerce, and legal frameworks for digital environments. Active in international projects, including media and democracy initiatives in West Africa.
Grants & Projects: Led research on cyberjustice, privacy in transportation networks (STM project), and digital governance. Collaborates with institutions like the CRSH and FQRSC. Projects include 'Cyberjustice Laboratory' and 'Access to Law & Justice' initiatives.
Affiliations: Member of CRDP, ADAJ (Access to Law & Justice), and the L.R. Wilson Chair. Serves as a guest lecturer at universities in Quebec, Paris, and Belgium.
