Maya Cachecho is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Montreal. She coordinates the ADAJ (Access to Law and Justice) initiative and is a member of the CRDP (Centre de recherche en droit public) and CDACI (Centre de droit des affaires et du commerce international). She holds a doctorate in law from the University of Montreal, specializing in corporate law, financial markets, and legal frameworks for intermediated securities.

Research Interests: Her work focuses on corporate law, financial market regulation, comparative law analysis, and the legal implications of financial technologies (FinTech). She explores topics such as digital financial instruments, privacy protections in financial transactions, and cross-border legal harmonization.
Grants & Projects: She leads research projects funded by the Bar Foundation, FRQSC, and the Autorité des marchés financiers, including studies on FinTech ethics, cryptocurrency regulation, and access to justice in digital environments. She collaborates in large-scale initiatives like LEXIS (Legislation, Innovation, and Society) and ADAJ.
Teaching & Leadership: She teaches corporate law, security law, and private international law at all academic levels. She pioneered the Quebec Institute for Law and Justice Reform, serving as its first director.
