Pierre Purseigle is a Reader in Modern Continental European History at the University of Warwick. He has held academic positions at institutions including the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, CY University, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and Oxford University.

His recent publications focus on urban resilience during wartime, state mobilization, and postwar reconstruction. Pierre Purseigle has received prestigious grants such as the UKRI-AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Partnership (2025-2029) and the EU Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship (2016-2018).
