Dr. Philippe Amstislavski is a Professor in the Division of Population Health Sciences at the University of Alaska Anchorage. His research focuses on Circumpolar public and environmental health, biotechnologies for environmental footprint reduction in high-latitude regions, and biomaterials innovation. He leads the Biomaterials Lab at UAA and teaches courses in environmental health, statistics, and GIS/spatial analysis within the MPH Program.
Education: PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the City University of New York; Master's from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
Research Interests: Combines environmental health with Circumpolar studies, emphasizing sustainable biotechnologies and biomaterials development. His work addresses challenges specific to high-latitude ecosystems through interdisciplinary approaches.
Teaching: Contributes to the MPH Program through graduate-level courses in environmental health methodologies and spatial analysis.
Labs/Teams: Director of the Biomaterials Lab, which drives innovations in eco-friendly technologies for Arctic and subarctic regions.
