Philip Wu

Dr Philip Wu is a Professor of Information Management and Head of the Department of Information and Operations Management at the School of Business and Management, Royal Holloway, University of London. With a PhD from the iSchool at the University of Maryland, College Park, he specializes in human behavior in technology-mediated environments from sociopsychological perspectives.

• Research areas: Human-computer interaction, digital health, online reviews, and digital labor platforms
• Leadership roles: Head of Department; served as Deputy Director of Postgraduate Research (PhD) programme (2019-2023)
• Editorial roles: Editor for Information Systems Journal (2024→), Information Technology & People (2019-2024), and Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology (2017-2024)

His recent research explores IoT adoption in agriculture, AI hesitancy in health management, and optimization of neural networks for emotion recognition. He supervises PhD students including Larastri Kumaralalita, Cevdet Bulut, and Abdullah Alamri.
