Philip Booth

Philip Booth is a Professor of Finance, Public Policy, and Ethics at St Mary’s University, where he also serves as Director of Catholic Mission. He leads initiatives to integrate Catholic social teaching into academic and research activities, emphasizing the common good and societal welfare. His roles include Director of Policy and Research for the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales and membership on the Shadow Monetary Policy Committee. He holds adjunct positions at the University of Notre Dame (Australia) and the University of Kent.

Booth’s research focuses on Catholic social thought, business ethics, public policy, and political economy. He explores themes such as property rights, environmental protection, government debt, and ethical business practices. His work includes running the Catholic Social Thought project, funded by the Templeton World Charity Foundation, to address 21st-century challenges through religious and ethical frameworks.
