Kade Booth

Dr Kade Booth is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Newcastle, affiliated with the College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing and the School of Medicine and Public Health. With a strong background in sociology and anthropology, Dr Booth's research focuses on health equity, Indigenous health research ethics, and gender studies, particularly examining Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research practices and gender dynamics in sports and public health contexts.

Additionally, Dr Booth investigates gender dynamics in sports, particularly the participation of women and gender diverse individuals in Australian football, exploring issues of sexuality, locker room culture, and cultural spaces. Dr Booth has secured significant research funding, including:

• Lead researcher on the $177,600 "Improving Cervical Screening for Trans and Gender Diverse people in NSW" grant from the Cancer Institute NSW (2025-2026)

As an emerging academic, Dr Booth serves as Co-Supervisor for a PhD examining "An Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Examination of Ethics and Ethical Conduct in Health and Medical Research" and as Consultant Supervisor for a PhD on "The Uncharted Journey of Aboriginal Health in the Neonatal Setting." Their teaching experience includes tutoring the SOCA1050 Youth, Gender and Crime course at the University of Newcastle in 2023, where they explored the social determinants of gender and crime on young people's lives.
