Phil Wernette

Phil Wernette is a Fixed Term Assistant Professor and Director of Remote Sensing & GIS (RS&GIS) at the Department of Geography, Environment, and Spatial Sciences, Michigan State University. His work bridges physical geography, geophysics, ecology, and computer science through multidisciplinary collaboration.

• Research Focus: Coastal landscape dynamics, error quantification in geospatial analyses, and integration of machine learning with geoscience.
• Technologies: Utilizes AUVs, ROVs, UAVs/UASs, LiDAR, hyperspectral imagery, GPR, ERT, and seismic tools.
