Weibo Liu

Weibo Liu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geosciences at Florida Atlantic University, specializing in Geographic Information Science (GIS) and its applications to natural hazards, urbanization, and coastal environments. He holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Kansas (2016) and degrees in Geographic Information Science from China University of Petroleum (MS 2011, BS 2008).

Recent publications highlight his expertise in coastal hydrology, urban heat island effects, and disaster resilience. Articles include systematic groundwater discharge quantification along Florida coasts, multi-method urban surface analysis in Bangladesh, and thermal stress impacts on reef sponges.
